Fullback Stuart Hogg has liked a comment heavily criticising his performance in the Lions opener against the Provincial Barbarians.
Warren Gatland’s men edged to a narrow 13-7 win but were subject to a hefty amount of criticism from the Kiwi media, which included a comment that suggested the players weren’t fit to wear the shirt.
Hogg, along with fly-half Johnny Sexton were particularly targetted by the criticism, with the Scottish fullback being given a very harsh 2.5. by New Zealand website Stuff.
The fan, who revealed the Scot was his favourite player, admitted he felt bad making the comment on Reddit.
He apologised for his outburst:, saying: “The guy I replied to was asking if he played well, and I gave what I felt the general gist of his performance was,
“But, I definitely see how it’s rude, and I’m sorry.”
