Gloucester Rugby confirm captain for 2018-19 season

With the kick off the Gallagher Premiership just around the corner, Glocester has confirmed that Willi Heinz has once again been named as skipper.

The experienced scrum-half joined Gloucester Rugby ahead of the 2015-16 season and has gone on to clock up 63 competitive appearances in his time in Cherry and White, scoring nine tries in the process.

The former Crusader took over the Gloucester Rugby captaincy ahead of the 2017-18 season, and led with authority from the front as the team reached the European Rugby Challenge Cup Final and qualified for the Heineken Champions Cup.

Director of Rugby David Humphreys confirmed today that Heinz had proved to be an inspirational skipper last season and that the coaches are looking for more of the same from him this season.
