Lyon have put themselves in the mix to sign not one, not two, but THREE England stars as the fallout at Saracens following their confirmed relegation to the Championship rumbles on.
According to Neil Fissler from The Rugby Paper, the Top 14 side want to bring the trio of Owen Farrell, Maro Itoje and Billy Vunipola to Stade de Gerland.
The trio, who were key pillars of England’s squad at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, face uncertain futures at Sarries and according to a rugby agent may be able to evoke exceptional circumstances to play abroad while still playing for England.
He told TRP: “It was Saracens getting into a financial mess that is leading to them being relegated and nothing to do with the players.

“All of the English clubs have spent the majority of their money for next season already. The player shouldn’t be punished twice if they are forced abroad.
“It isn’t fair that players will be punished for a club’s mistake and by the RFU for something out of their control.
