Grading every England player’s 2022 summer tour

Grading every England player following the 2022 summer tour.

The rollercoaster that was the summer internationals is over, and it was a memorable one for England for all sorts of reasons.

Eddie Jones’ men managed to return home with a 2-1 series win against the Wallabies – and gave fans one of the most memorable summers they have ever seen.

With the Rugby World Cup looming, Jones was pleased that so many young and inexperienced players were on the right side of the scoreline.

He added: “It is a really positive step, we always felt the team was going in the right direction, sometimes results don’t reflect that. At the end we had six players with under 10 caps – this is a young inexperienced squad and to have an experience like this is fantastic. They now understand what it is like to win a series away.

“Some of our guys have now won two series in Australia. I am so proud of their efforts.

“It is like training a race horse, we don’t want to be at our best until the World Cup finals, we need to keep building the base, the depth, the competition and our style of play. We are in a good position.”

Let’s grade every player’s performance. We’ve only included players who featured in the test matches.
