Eddie Jones has revealed he will rest flanker Sam Underhill for England’s final autumn international against Samoa at Twickenham this weekend.
The 21-year-old back-rower lasted just 22 minutes during England’s 30-6 win over Australia on Saturday, not returning following a head injury assessment.
And this morning the Aussie coach confirmed that he would not rush Underhill back.
“He won’t be available,” said the England head coach.
“We’ve taken a step where we just feel he needs a rest this week.
“It’s just that this was his second concussion this season so we’ve taken the view that we won’t risk him this week.”
Despite “bumps and bruises” from an abrasive meeting with the Wallabies, England have no other injury problems.
