INJURY NEWS: Jonathan Joseph ruled out for three months

England and Bath’s Jonathan Joseph has been ruled out for three months following surgery to repair the pectoral Injury he suffered during the hosts Rugby World Cup opener.

The 24-year-old centre suffered the damage against Fiji in England’s first game of the Pool stages at Twickenham.

He then missed the 28-25 defeat by Wales, but did recover to face Australia a week later when England’s exit from the tournament was confirmed.

“Bath can confirm that centre Jonathan Joseph underwent surgery earlier this week for a pectoral injury sustained during the World Cup,” a Bath statement read.

“Joseph, who made his 16th international appearance for England during the competition, will be out of action for approximately three months.”

England begins their 2016 Six Nations against Scotland at Murrayfield on 6 February with Joseph’s involvement now in doubt
