Match Report: Leinster 60-13 Northampton – Nine-try Leinster ran riot

  • Leinster ran in nine tries as they outclassed Northampton to win 60-13 at the Aviva Stadium
  • The win moves the Irish province six points clear in Pool 4 of the Champions Cup
A night to forget for Jim Mallinder’s men as they suffer a record European hammering while Leinster cruise ever closer to a knockout stage spot.

Following their 31-10 defeat last Frida night, a breakaway Ken Pisi try left actually put Saints 13-5 up at one stage.

But Adam Byrne’s second try and scores from Luke McGrath and Sean O’Brien saw the home side build a 29-13 lead heading into half-time

Tadhg Furlong, Sean Cronin, Isa Nacewa (2) and Rory O’Loughlin added further tries as Northampton capitulated in the secon-halg.

Leinster’s ended the match with run of 55 unanswered points as they inflicted a record European defeat on the struggling Saints.
