Question raised over whether referee missed red card in England v Ireland clash

Social media has suggested that Jaco Peyper should have potentially handed out a red card during today’s Six Nations clash between England and Ireland.

The clip shows Ireland lock James Ryan entering the ruck dangerously, making contact with the head of England number 8 Tom Curry just four minutes into the match.

..thats because both sides were at it, theres a very thin line when competing at test match intensity. In fact Ireland rarely step over the mark nor get involved in sledging, which this English side are prone to doing now since Jones came on-board. In rugby we rarely see players play acting luckily ….

Yes I spotted it too . The ref did not have a good match ! Not sure why we have video refs sometimes as he should have spotted it and other things. . Sometimes video refs are very proactive and others just sit and watch the game

Saw it live too but I think Laws blocked the refs view. Definitely needs looking at now. Loved the way the boys just cracked on with the game.

Absolute definte red, that is an extremely dangerous thing to do, going into the ruck, head down at that speed. Im scottish, but definetly on englands side on this one. Not only, anyone else think that owen farrell should have been sin binned for not letting go of the irish player whom i forgotten the name??
