England have been hit with a double injury blow with Elliot Daly and Nathan Hughes set to miss the entire Six Nations.
Daly’s ankle injury, which he picked up in Wasps 21-3 win over La Rochelle, does not require surgery but will see him sidelined for up to 12 weeks, the club confirmed on Thursday night.
That means the utility back will definitely miss England Tests against Italy, Wales, Scotland and France, and most likely the final game against Ireland.
Hughes is also a long-term concern. His medial knee ligament injury also does not need to be operated on but will rule him out for eight to 10 weeks.
