Sir Clive Woodward linked with SHOCK return to international rugby

The Sunday Times has this morning that Sir Clive Woodward should take charge of Welsh Rugby Due to the current ‘shambles’.

two-page article on Sunday morning assesses the fallout following the departures of Warren Gatland as coach, and also three key WRU figures.

At the very end of the article, they put forward this suggestion.

“Ask Sir Clive Woodward to take charge of Welsh professional rugby in its entirety; the four pro clubs have a seat on the Board, so do Sam Warburton, Ken Owens and Jamie Roberts.

“There. That’s a start.”

Woodward, who almost took the France job back in 2015, has also been suggested as a replacement for Geordan Murphy at Leicester Tigers.

JOIN THE RUCK:

Sir Clive Woodward selects eight Englishmen in his Lions 2021 XV

BACK-THREE: Stuart Hogg (Scotland), Liam Williams (Wales), Anthony Watson (England)

“I’d start these three, but could have Jonny May and Josh Adams adding pace off the bench.”

CENTRES: Manu Tuilagi (England) & Jonathan Davies (Wales)

“Similar partnership to Te’o and Davies in 2017, but with even more power.”
