Matt O’Connor has left his role as head coach of Leicester Tigers just one match into the new Premiership season.
The Tigers were thrashed 40-6 by Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, but has been relieved of his duties ‘in the best interests of moving forward’.
Assistant coach Geordan Murphy will take charge of team affairs on an interim basis.
Here’s how social media has reacted:

Leicester Tigers? What on earth? If Matt O’Connor isn’t the right man after just 80 minutes this season, why not make the change at the end of last season? I mean…

Sad day for Matt O’Connor and his family.
But fact of the matter is back in the day Tigers would not expect to loose to the All Blacks by 34 points.
Its a results game
