South Africa star could be banned after stamp against Ireland spotted on camera

Video from the Stade de France captures a moment during the game where Josh van der Flier’s injured right hand was allegedly ‘stamped’ on during an early ruck.

Despite sustaining a finger injury just minutes into the match, the reigning 2022 World Player of the Year displayed remarkable resilience, downplaying the incident and soldiering on without making a fuss.

John Fogarty said Ireland’s management team was not aware of an alleged stamping incident, but was sure World Rugby would act accordingly.
