The best and worst signings of the 2021/22 Premiership season

THE end of the Gallagher Premiership season is upon us and as ever clubs have had mixed luck with transfers.

The 2021-22 campaign is drawing to its conclusion ahead of what will be a thrilling final between Leicester Tigers and Saracens.

In the last year or so we have seen plenty of inspired signings, but also some that simply have not worked out.

Here, RUCK reporters nominate their best and worst transfer from the last 12 or so months…

#BEST SIGNINGS:

#3. Elliot Stooke (Wasps)

The 28-year-old impressed in a Bath shirt for a number of years before joining Wasps last summer. Despite a serious injury towards the end of the season, Stooke proved that he has what it takes to be a key player for the black and golds for years to come.

#2. Theo McFarland (Saracens)

  • Age: 28
  • Position: Lock/Flanker

A year ago, few had heard of the Samoan forward but he is now starting to become a household name in the English Premiership following a series of stunning performances for Saracens. The former basketball player, who signed from Major League Rugby side the Dallas Jackals, can feature at either lock or back-row and he has all the skills to be a world-class forward.

DID YOU KNOW? He made his debut for Samoa in July 2021, playing two non-cap internationals against the Māori All Blacks before making his full debut against Tonga
