Rugby Inside Line has reported that Coenie Oosthuizen, whose move to England was previously blocked by the South African Union, has been told he free is to move to Sale Sharks in January on a short-term deal.
The 29-year-old, who joined the Sharks from the Cheetahs in 2016 on a four-year contract, missed the entire 2018 Super Rugby season after suffering a knee injury in the 38-3 loss to Ireland in Dublin last year.

Joining Sale would allow the 127kg tighthead prop to build up his fitness ahead of the 2019 Super Rugby season and the Rugby World Cup.
He was not named in the original 35-man squad, but Oosthuizen could also still feature in this year’s Rugby Championship for the Springboks.
The other tighthead options in the current squad come in the form of Wilco Louw, Frans Malherbe and Thomas du Toit.
