England Under-20s begin their 2026 Six Nations campaign on Friday night with a familiar rivalry – and a fresh face in the starting XV.

Andy Titterrell has named his matchday squad to take on Wales in Round 1 of the Under-20 Men’s Six Nations Championship at Cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens (19:45 GMT kick-off). Among the headline selections is Noah Caluori, who starts after being called into the U20 setup for the first time this season.
For Caluori, the selection is another step in a remarkable rise over the past 18 months. The Saracens academy product has moved quickly through England’s age-grade pathway, from U18s to U19s and now into the U20 starting side, carrying the momentum of a breakout club season into the international arena.
Still only 19, Caluori announced himself at senior level with a try-scoring Prem debut for Saracens in September 2025, crossing in a 37–19 away win over Newcastle Red Bulls. Three weeks later, he made his first Prem start against Sale Sharks and scored five tries in a 65–14 home victory, only being denied a sixth by a penalty try decision after contact in the air.
His scoring form continued in Europe, with a try on Champions Cup debut against Clermont Auvergne, before a four-try haul in a 73–14 league win over Newcastle later in the season.
Internationally, his trajectory has been just as sharp. Caluori made his England U18 debut against Ireland in August 2024 and quickly drew attention with a solo try from inside his own 22 against South Africa later that summer. He featured for England U19 in March 2025 and was part of the England U20 squad for the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship.
His progress has not gone unnoticed higher up the ladder either. Initially brought into the senior environment in a developmental capacity, Caluori was named in England’s 36-man squad for the 2025 Autumn Nations Series, went on to represent England A – scoring against Spain – and was recalled to senior training following injury elsewhere in the squad.
Friday’s fixture will also see Bath Rugby back-row Connor Treacey captain England U20s for the first time in a capped match, having previously led the U18 and U19 sides. Six players are in line for full U20 debuts in Northampton: Luke Davidson, Patrick Hogg, George Marsh, James Pater, Jimmy Staples and Elliot Williams.
Caluori is joined in the squad by Lucas Friday, with both earning their first U20 involvements of the season as two of 10 capped players in the matchday 23. From the bench, Kealan Freeman-Price, Freddie Ogden-Metherell, Oliver Spencer, Asa Stewart-Harris, Sonny Tonga’uiha, Sam Winters and Victor Worsnip could all make their U20 debuts if called upon.
Titterrell is clear about the tone he wants his side to set from the outset.
“From the first whistle against Wales, we want to ignite our campaign and hunt together with real purpose and clarity,” Andy Titterrell said.
“The connections within this group, the way they support one another and their commitment to being relentless will define how we play. We want to show positive intent in a very difficult opening fixture in Northampton.
“If the players take true ownership of their roles and embrace the enjoyment that comes from competing for each other, we’ll be in a strong place to start the tournament.”
