World Rugby Player Of The Year betting: There is a new odds on favourite

There is a new odds-on favourite to win the World Player of the Year award.

The winner of the 2018 World Rugby Player of the Year will be decided by a panel of judges, plus players and coaches, at the World Rugby Awards ceremony in Monte Carlos on November 25.

Here’s how the contenders rank right now!

5. Malcolm Marx -50/1

Although widely considered to be the best hooker in world rugby, South African Marx did his admittedly already slim chances of landing the World Player of the Year award no good with his error-strewn performance against England at Twickenham on November 3.

4. Rieko Ioane – 40/1

Aged just 21, All Black Rieko Ioane is the youngest nominee on the list. Unless he does something truly remarkable in New Zealand’s final autumn international against Italy, this year will again come too soon for the man who made his test debut at just 19.
