We’re only a week in, and it feels like both the blink of an eye & eternity. The reality is we have a huge, long journey ahead that’ll demand so much change like town relocation & intensive rehab. But even before all that, we have to conquer ICU which could be many weeks yet. Being thrust into a radically new normal is shocking, and while I accept it, I don’t have to like it because I don’t. We don’t. We had the most beautiful, simple, happy life together and I’d be lying if I said I don’t want it back because I do. But I trust wholeheartedly God will restore everything that’s been stolen & broken. I‘m also coming to terms that it won’t be in the timeframe we want aka immediately. It’s still very surreal and will take time to sink in, but I just want to publicly thank every single one of you inspiring humans who have reached out in prayer, kindness, practical generosity and just gone out of your way to show us love + solidarity. I’m in AWE of the power in community, I’ve never seen anything like this where ppl from every tribe & faith are rallying around us in genuine support. We feel it, we are honoured and we say the deepest THANK YOU. Love is the only force that’ll see us through these treacherous waters. The Bible says to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and that’s exactly our need in the other hand of medical rehabilitation. Not merely for his physical recovery but for the logistical sides, and ofcourse mental, emotional & spiritual elements too. 2020 focus is healing, family and faith… forever the three most important things in life!!! Let our story check you into perspective because seriously nothing really even matters X
