Transfer Rumours: Jerome Kaino is in talks with European club
All Blacks veteran Jerome Kaino is reportedly in talks with French club Toulon.
Respected sports publication Midi Olympique suggests the 81-Test flanker will link-up with the glamour club following next season’s Super Rugby campaign with the Blues.
They have reported that 34-year-old is being lined up as a replacement for South African flanker Duane Vermeulen who is believed to be heading home, joining the Stormers.
The back-to-back World Cup winner has found himself struggling to recapture his starting spot after taking a break to deal with some personal issues.
With a host of young talent lead by Vaea Fifita and Liam Squire now vying for his No. 6 jersey, a move north would seem well-timed.
The squad already includes a couple of New Zealanders in Kaino’s former All Blacks teammates Malakai Fekitoa and Ma’a Nonu.
